Kind Minds: COVID-19 rural and remote response
In response to COVID-19, we’ve launched Kind Minds.
Kind Minds is about rural and remote Aussies doing what they do best – sticking together.
We’re reaching out to the thousands of people we’ve trained across the country and asking them to help their communities in this time of need.
There’s power in numbers and, if we all do our bit, together we can make an enormous impact.
We’re suggesting small acts of kindness that can make a big difference, like:
- Delivering groceries or medications to vulnerable neighbours or people in self-isolation
- Sharing accurate and up-to-date information from reliable sources
- Calling or writing to vulnerable neighbours or people in self-isolation
- Organising group or community activities that follow physical distancing requirements
We’re also asking our volunteers to provide emotional support to people who have a COVID-19 diagnosis or are awaiting test results. Some of them will be feeling scared, lonely and anxious – but they shouldn’t have to go through it alone.
Kind Minds will also source and share positive stories from across the regions. Country folk are known for their ingenuity and we can all learn from each other.
We want to bring communities together and give people a sense of connection by helping them share their own stories and experiences.
Kind minds are strong minds and we’d love to have you on-board.
